Jason Zada is an award-winning director and storyteller, known for his distinctive approach to narrative. His debut theatrical feature film, The Forest, was released by Focus Features in 2016. Prior to this, he gained significant recognition for his groundbreaking work on the Emmy Award-winning interactive experience Take This Lollipop. Seen by over 100 million people globally, the experience went viral, accumulating 13 million Facebook Likes and becoming the fastest-growing Facebook app at the time. Jason's unique style of multi-screen storytelling earned him a spot in Adweek/Creativity’s list of Top 50 most influential creative personalities in 2012. From a young age, Jason was drawn to unconventional storytelling. His early interests included making Super8 films, programming text-based video games on his Commodore 64, and creating video games, all of which laid the groundwork for his passion for both technology and storytelling. In the 1990s, Jason expanded his storytelling pursuits into CD-ROMs and the Internet. In 2000, he founded the digital advertising agency Evolution Bureau (EVB), which he grew into a globally recognized firm. Over the next eight years, EVB expanded to a team of 65, eventually leading to a majority acquisition by Omnicom. As a commercial director, Jason has collaborated with top advertising agencies like Wieden+Kennedy, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Sid Lee, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, RPA, Y&R, Draftfcb, Kaplan Thaler, and Grey. His work spans both digital and broadcast mediums. Jason is also a passionate public speaker and frequently shares his insights at prominent industry events such as Cannes, South by Southwest, and FITC. His work has been featured in major publications like The New York Times, Forbes, Fast Company, Adweek, Shoot Magazine, Communication Arts, IndieWire, and Contagious, among others.
